Apostolates

Our primary service is prayer for our families and friends, our parishes, and the whole world.>  We pray morning prayer, evening prayer, the Rosary.  We meditate on God, the Holy Scriptures, and the writings of St. Teresa of Avila, St John of the Cross, and St Therese  of Lisieux.   Our community also participates the apostolates shown below.

Devotion to the Holy Face

“May the most holy, most sacred, most adorable, most incomprehensible and unutterable Name of God be always praised, blessed, loved, adored and glorified in Heaven, on earth, and under the earth, by all the creatures of God, and by the Sacred Heart of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar. Amen.”

-  (Dictated by Our Lord to Sister Mary of St. Peter)

Praying for Priests

Gracious and loving God, we thank you for the gift of our priests.  Through them, we experience your presence in the sacraments. Help our priests to be strong in their vocation. Set their souls on fire with love for your people. Grant them the wisdom, understanding, and strength they need to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. Inspire them with the vision of your Kingdom.  Give them the words they need to spread the Gospel. Allow them to experience joy in their ministry. Help them to become instruments of your divine grace. We ask this through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns as our Eternal Priest.  Amen. - USCCB website

Annual ceremony for the Enrollment in
the Confraternity of the Brown Scapular

In 1250 a.d., Our Lady appeared to Saint Simon Stock and imparted to the scapular a spiritual meaning. It would indicate that the wearer was clothed with the protection of The Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel. In return, there are obligations on the part of the wearer.

                                                                              1. Wear the scapular continuously

                                                                              2. Remain chaste according to your state in life

                                                                              3. Pray the rosary every day

The brown scapular is a silent prayer reminding us of the contemplative aspect of the Christian life.  A little less known fact regarding the scapular is, on October 13, 1917, at the last Fatima apparition the Blessed Mother held in her hand the Brown Scapular while she presented herself as Our Lady of Mount Carmel. When asked why Our Lady held it, Sr. Lucia answered "because she wants everyone to wear the scapular, it is our sign of consecration to her Immaculate Heart."
